Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Maye Head is the Chairman of Ram Tool Construction Supply Company, a family-owned, construction distribution business. With operations in 15 states, Ram Tool is one of the largest women-owned businesses in Alabama.
Maye graduated from The Altamont School in Birmingham. She received her BA in History from Yale University in 1992. While at Yale, she was a member of Calhoun (now Hopper) College and the Yale University Polo Team. After graduating from college, she lived in New York and worked for the publishing division of Jim Henson Productions. Before returning to Birmingham, she studied and worked in Marketing in Paris for 4 years.
Maye is active in the arts and education community in Birmingham. She is the Governance Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Birmingham Museum of Art and the Secretary for the Highlands School Board. She is currently a member of the Yale Alumni Schools Committee as well as the Yale Club of Alabama
Maye is a member of the Hugh Kaul Foundation board and serves as Secretary for Alabama Trails Foundation Board. She is also a member of the Rotary Club of Downtown Birmingham and has recently joined the Board of The Women’s Fund.
Maye is married to Bernard Frei, an online sports marketing retailer, and they have two daughters.
