David served as Chief Executive Officer for Concourse Financial Group, a subsidiary of Protective Life Insurance Company. Prior to joining Protective, David served as Director of the Finance Department for the State of Alabama and as Chief of Staff to the Governor of Alabama. Prior to that, he practiced law with the Birmingham-based Maynard Cooper & Gale law firm. David is actively involved in his community, serving as the Chair of the Birmingham Industrial Development Board in addition to serving on several nonprofit boards. He graduated from Duke University (B.A.) and the Northwestern University School of Law (J.D.), is married to Emily Schultz and has four children – Davis, Madeleine, Caleb and Quinn.
