Dr. Graham Sisson is the Executive Director of the Governor’s Office on Disabilities (GOOD). GOOD’s mission is to facilitate the inclusion of Alabamians with disabilities in education, employments, housing, transportation, health care, and leisure. Dr. Sisson is the current Chair of the Alabama Trails Commission
He is a 1987 summa cum laude graduate of the University of North Alabama with a B.S. degree in Accounting and minors in history and English. Additionally, he is a 1990 graduate of Vanderbilt Law School and has been a licensed attorney for over 26 years. He is a 2016 graduate of Auburn University with a PHD in Rehabilitation, Counseling, and Leadership.
His hobbies are woodworking, scuba diving, and vegetable gardening. On June 27, 1982 he became a person with a disability when I was injured in a head-on motor vehicle collision with a drunk driver. As a passenger in the back seat, he suffered injuries to his spinal cord and a closed head injury, which caused him to be in a coma for over 8 weeks. He has used a wheelchair for mobility for more than 30 years due to being paralyzed below the waist
